SecondBite, The Swag team up to raise awareness of food waste

Food rescue organisation SecondBite has teamed with food storage and produce bag brand The Swag, to raise awareness of food waste.

On account of Stop Food Waste Day on April 26, The Swag is set to offer a limited-edition “SecondBite Bundle” – which includes three sizes (large, long and small) for $80.30. For every bundle sold, The Swag will donate $4 to SecondBite which rescues surplus and unsold food and distributes it to more than 1100 charities across Australia.

According to Applied Horticulture research, The Swag’s produce bags are reusable, machine-washable and compostable and are said to keep fruit and vegetables fresh for two weeks or more in the fridge.

Peita Pini, founder and MD of The Swag, described the partnership with SecondBite as “another step towards a future where there is no food waste and where everyone has access to fresh, nutritious food”.

Lucy Coward, the acting CEO of SecondBite, said the brand’s produce bags are an easy and affordable option for reducing food waste.

“This partnership will not only support us to feed hungry Aussies but will reach a whole new audience of potential supporters.”
