Mars Australia has budgeted $200 million to expand manufacturing capacity, enhance R&D capabilities, and strengthen sustainability initiatives.
Part of the investment is in its pet food facility in Wodonga, where a $112.5 million wet pouch production line is set to be commissioned from June.
The upgrade is expected to improve operational efficiency and support growing demand across its pet nutrition business.
“We are proud of the role our Australian manufacturing sites play across our operations, and this investment strengthens that commitment for the long term,” said Melodie Nye, MD, Mars Australia.
The company said the move builds on its long-standing presence in the country, which dates back more than a century. Mars’ local manufacturing footprint includes its Wodonga site, established in 1967, which remains a major employer in the region.
“When we invest locally, we create jobs, deepen capability and help regional economies thrive, delivering long-term value for people, pets and the planet,” Nye added.
