Australian family-owned food manufacturer SUR Direct has launched its ready-to-eat chimichurri range into Harris Farm Markets.
The range offers two varieties from the Australian food manufacturer: Original Chimichurri and Hot Chimichurri.
Made with local ingredients, the condiment range is gluten-free, vegan-friendly, and free of artificial preservatives, colours, and flavours.
The Original Chimichurri uses a blend of fresh herbs, garlic, and vinegar as a condiment, marinade, or dressing, while the Hot Chimichurri follows the same baseline recipe with the addition of chilli.
The product rollout comes in response to growth in the domestic condiments sector, with market projections for sauces, dips, and condiments expected to reach approximately $3.8 billion by 2029, according to data from Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada.
In addition, market data from Google Keyword Planner indicates that chimichurri averaged 84,000 monthly searches between April 2025 and March 2026, making it the most searched steak sauce in the country.
“Our goal has always been to create products that inspire people to try new flavours and enjoy more meals together,” said Carlos Cordova, SUR Direct’s co-founder. “You don’t need to be an experienced cook to enjoy chimichurri. It can transform a steak, vegetables, eggs, sandwiches, seafood or a simple weeknight dinner in seconds.
“We’re incredibly proud that more Australians will now discover chimichurri as part of their regular Harris Farm shop. For our family, this isn’t just another retail launch. It’s the opportunity to share a tradition that’s been part of our lives for generations and hopefully make it part of theirs too.”
