Following the success of its Victorian rollout with Ampol Foodary and Woolworths MetroGo, Doughnut time will begin to sell its products through 500 Ampol service stations nationwide.

Kate Thomson, executive GM for Ampol, shared that the initial customer feedback of Doughnut Time in Victoria was “overwhelmingly positive”, and its national expansion was an example of the fuel company supporting local businesses.

“After a successful launch last year in Victoria, we are excited to increase our bakery offering of this proud Australian brand, Doughnut Time,” said Thomson.

The expansion also marks the first time an Australian retail brand has partnered with a fuel and convenience store business on this scale.

“We are expanding from 67 Ampol locations to more than 500 – our company’s biggest success since its creation in 2015,” said James Willis, founder of retail private equity fund Ellerfax who took control of Doughnut Time – Supermarket and Convenience in 2020.

The Queensland business said its doughnuts are all hand-made, with its production site having the capacity to produce more than 8000 an hour.

Available flavours include Original Glaze, Strawberry Sprinkle, Chocolate Sprinkle, Caramel, Jam Doughnut, and Chocolate Custard.

Willis said he is looking forward to continuing the company’s partnership with Ampol, which has a strong presence in regional and remote areas in the country.

“For the first time, customers in the NT, WA, SA, the ACT and Tasmania can try our doughnuts in-store,” he concluded.
