Weight Watchers launches frozen meals range to boost immune system

Patties Foods’ brand Weight Watchers has launched a range of frozen meals aimed at strengthening the body’s immune system.

The company says its Meals to Support Immunity range is the first frozen meal offering to earn Food Standards Australia New Zealand approval.

The range features a super nutrient – Wellmune – which is a yeast beta glucan that is already used in more than 400 food, beverage and supplement products.

This natural fibre is scientifically proven to improve immune health by “training” the immune system to better detect and react to viruses, bacteria and other pathogens.

This is the first time Wellmune has been used in a frozen-ready meals range in Australia.

Patties Foods’ GM of marketing, innovation and international, Anand Surujpal, described the launch as a “bold move” for the company and added: “We take a holistic approach to supporting our customers’ goals by educating through nutrition science to inspire healthy eating choices and connecting a global community through sustainable, healthy habits that last.”

The range is available in two flavours: Italian Style Chicken Risotto with Greens, and Yellow Vegetable Curry with Brown Rice and retails for $7.50 per meal.

Each product in the range holds a 3.5-star Australian health rating and offers more than 10 grams of protein and is free of artificial colours and flavours.
