Australian dairy company Bega Cheese has announced that
long-time director Max Roberts will act as alternate director and chairman in place of Barry Irvin who is undergoing chemotherapy.
In May, the company revealed that the executive chairman was taking leave to recover from surgery.
On Tuesday morning, Bega issued a statement to the ASX saying that Irvin will extend his leave by six months as he undergoes treatment.
Irvin has held the executive chairman position at Bega Cheese since 2008.
The dairy company announced in February that it formed a long-term partnership with formula company Bubs Australia to produce goat infant formula.
