Alexa’s shout: Coke partners with Amazon on personalisation promo

Coca-Cola Australia is putting voice technology at the heart of its latest promotion in partnership with online retail giant Amazon.

The latest Share a Coke promotion encourages consumers to avail of a free personalised Coke bottle by using the ‘Coke Skill’ on an Alexa-enabled device.

From Wednesday January 29 to February 4, by saying, “Alexa, let’s Share A Coke”, up to 6000 Australians can redeem the offer.

Once the voice conversation is activated a text message is sent directing users to the Share a Coke website to arrange the free beverage to be sent to their door.

Lucie Austin, marketing director of Coca-Cola South Pacific, said the soft drinks giant is eager to embrace the rising popularity of voice technology.

“Voice-assisted lifestyles are becoming increasingly popular among consumers so, at Coca-Cola, we are super excited to work with Amazon and build on the success of one of our most iconic campaigns, Share A Coke. This campaign enables customers to Share A Coke in a fun, new and innovative way via Alexa,” Austin said.

Coca-Cola’s Share A Coke campaign has already improved efforts around diversity, with more names added and the option for consumers to create their own bottle.
