Danone’s YoPro expands into protein bars

Food and beverage company Danone is expanding its yoghurt brand YoPro into a whole new category, nut protein bars.

The brand has developed an on-the-go snacks range that meets the need for post-workout recovery.

The bars contain 20g protein, 0g added sugar, 0g artificial sweeteners and 0 artificial colours or flavours. They also have an advanced protein blend with collagen and high fibre.

YoPro brand manager Xavier Gonzalez said the range was developed after they spotted a gap in the protein snacks market.

“We’ve observed a strong cross over of YoPro yoghurt purchases and protein bars – with the latter being consumed heavily as a convenient post workout performance snack. We believe there is a gap in the current offerings for a uniquely balanced protein bar that blends quality high protein (20g) with 0 added sugar and a great taste,” Gonzalez said.

YoPRO Nut Protein Bars are available in Woolworths in the refrigerated section. Flavours include Salted Caramel, Mixed Berry and Apple Cinnamon.
