KKR snaps up New Zealand’s Natural Pet Food Group

Global investment firm KKR announced has acquired New Zealand-based premium pet-food company Natural Pet Food Group.

According to the company, the investment will fund planned international growth, product development, and advance its mission to supply safe, sustainable high-meat pet food from New Zealand to more customers (and their pets) worldwide.

“My team is excited about the opportunities and connections that KKR can provide,” said Neil Hinton, CEO at Natural Pet Food Group.

“It’s a great result not only for our company but also our supply partners, farmers and seafood suppliers from all over New Zealand and our manufacturing partners in Hawke’s Bay and Gisborne,” he added.

Michael Robson, MD of KKR Capstone, joins Natural Pet Food Group’s board.

KKR Asian Fund IV will provide the investment funds for KKR. Additional details of the acquisition have not been made public.
