Bundaberg companies join forces to create alcoholic Ginger Beer

Bundaberg Distilling Company has teamed up with Bundaberg Ginger Beer to launch Bundaberg Alcoholic Ginger Beer.

According to the companies, the range features locally grown ginger and white Queensland cane spirit and retains the distinctive character of both brands. It has 4 per cent alcohol.

Founded in 1888, the Bundaberg Rum Distillery has 130 years of experience in producing crafted rum, while, Bundaberg Ginger Beer is a family-owned company that mainly focuses on creating softdrinks.

“We know the Alcoholic Ginger Beer category is growing rapidly and nobody is better placed than two local Aussie icons to introduce the best Alcoholic Ginger Beer made by locals for locals with real ingredients to more Aussies,” said Duncan Littler, marketing & experience manager of Bundaberg Distilling Company.

John McLean, CEO of Bundaberg Ginger Beer, believes the collaboration will give Aussies a different experience compared to traditional tastes.

“We have a long history of sharing drinks with our great mates at Bundaberg Distilling Company, so we are thrilled to be collaborating with them on creating an alcoholic version of Australia’s favourite Ginger Beer,” said McLean.

“Aussies have been asking for this for a long time. We believe our 53-year history of brewing Australia’s favourite Ginger Beer, using locally sourced ingredients, paired with Bundaberg Distilling Company’s 133-years of distilling is a match made in flavour heaven.”

The Bundaberg Alcoholic Ginger Beer will be sold in independent bottle shops nationwide next month and reach liquor store chains early next year, with an RRP of $21.99 for a pack of four 375ml cans.
