Global liquor company Diageo has introduced Draught Cocktails it hopes will transform the way bartenders serve cocktails on-premise by using an on-tap system similar to serving draught beer.
With Draught Cocktails, bartenders can pour, garnish and serve up to six cocktails per minute without compromising on taste or quality, the company promises.
To create the perfect serve, Diageo’s R&D team teamed up with technical experts to accelerate their innovations – including a patented nitro-infused liquid technology to deliver the perfect creme and velvety finish, a flooded fount and chiller to guarantee ice-cold serves without the need for a cool room and a bag-in-box solution to reduce waste.
The brand has expanded its collection with Gordon’s Pink Martini, Smirnoff Passionfruit Martini, Captain Morgan Strawberry Daiquiri, and Smirnoff with Mr Black Espresso Martini.
After years of research and development, Diageo’s director of marketing and innovation, Hayden Abercrombie, feels that the company has achieved the ideal level of consistency and quality traditionally found in a hand-shaken cocktail.
“By taking the complexity out of cocktail-making, we are helping bartenders pour, garnish and serve one cocktail every 10 seconds – that’s six times faster than traditional cocktails, which take on average one minute to make,” added Abercrombie.
Diageo says the introduction of Draught Cocktails will address quality and cost concerns for venues and customers. Abercrombie hopes the company can assist venues in improving their cocktail offerings, supporting an increasing consumer appetite for the drinks.
