Kellogg’s launches Coco Pops Chocos with less sugar

Kellogg's launches Coco Pops Chocos with less sugar

Kellogg’s has launched a new breakfast cereal, Coco Pops Chocos, it says balances nutrition and taste.

The cereal includes vitamins, minerals, fibre, and 25 per cent less sugar than its average cereal and comes with a 4-star health rating.

To perfect the taste of Coco Pops Chocos, Kellogg’s said the cereal underwent the “ultimate taste test” by the most honest critics: kids. The reactions were positive, with kids calling the cereal “delicious,” “very chocolaty,” and “super crunchy.”

The product launch comes after Kellogg’s research on Australian breakfast habits revealed 87 per cent of Aussie parents eat breakfast together and 82 per cent feel guilty if their family goes to work or school without breakfast.

According to the research, the most important factors for parents when deciding what’s for breakfast include tasty foods (65 per cent) that their kids will eat (62 per cent), low in sugar (48 per cent), and that they will enjoy too (40 per cent).

Natasha Sunderland, marketing manager at Kellanova ANZ, said the company knows parents are looking for breakfast options without compromising nutrition.

“Coco Pops is already a breakfast favourite across the nation, and with the enhanced nutritional benefits and iconic chocolatey taste of new Coco Pops Chocos,” she added. “We know the new product will be a hit at the breakfast table.”

Kellogg’s Coco Pops Chocos are available nationally at Woolworths and Coles for an RRP of $7 (260g pack).
