Bowan Island Bakery is planning to expand its presence in Asia following its launch in Singapore last month.
The bakery, which has been crafting sourdough since 1989, is known for its pastries, granola, and sourdough bread, with operations in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, and Brisbane.
The company made its international debut last month by launching into Singapore’s Little Farms organic grocery store. Bowan is now exporting par-baked frozen sourdough, premium-roasted granola, and frozen croissants to the country.
The launch was the result of discussions and preparations with Austrade since last September. As part of the collaboration, Austrade provided advice on branding, packaging, product quality, and logistics.
With the support, Bowan is also networking to build new leads and in-market connections in Thailand, China, and South Korea.
The company intends to export its in-house coffee blend to Singapore this year and is exploring opportunities in Malaysia and Indonesia as part of its partnership with Austrade.
