Breakfast cereals have been reimagined as protein powders through a collaboration between Kellanova and Australian health food company Macro Mike.

Inspired by Coco Pops, Nutri-Grain and Froot Loops, the limited-edition range turns the brands into dairy-free and gluten-free plant-based drinks with more than 23g of protein per serve.

The powders are made from almond and faba bean protein, blended in-house on the Gold Coast, and naturally sweetened with monk fruit and thaumatin.

“This collaboration is all about bringing the flavours of Australia’s favourite cereals into more moments throughout the day,” said Lauren Maddocks, senior brand manager at Kellanova.

“The Macro Mike team have done an incredible job of capturing the taste of Coco Pops, Nutri-Grain and Froot Loops in a protein powder that’s just as delicious as the cereals themselves.”

Wholesale and distribution will begin next month across Australia and New Zealand through supplement retailers including Nutrition Warehouse, Supplement Mart, ASN and Elite Supps, as well as gyms, health food stores and independent grocers.

A supermarket launch is planned for next year.

The Kellanova x Macro Mike collection is also available online, with prices starting at $52.95 for a 400g bag.

The launch is in partnership with brand extension agency Asembl.
