Kimchi brand Bibigo has introduced a locally produced Suitable for Vegans Kimchi range in Australia.

Featuring two varieties, Traditional Refreshing Style and Mild Tomato Blend, the range has “a proprietary seasoning base” designed to deliver the flavour profile of traditional kimchi while remaining vegan, and retain key nutritional benefits such as CJ’s patented probiotic strain CJLM119 and natural dietary fibre.

According to Bibigo, the range reflects growing consumer interest in plant-based Korean flavours and the rising demand for kimchi products without seafood ingredients.

“Kimchi is loved for its bold flavour, and we wanted to offer that same experience in a format suitable for vegans,” said Eugene Cha-Navarro, MD and CEO, CJ Foods Oceania.

“Our Suitable for Vegans Kimchi range retains the fermentation flavour and crunchy texture people expect, while preserving the nutritional qualities kimchi is valued for. It brings a traditional favourite into a more modern, trend-forward space – created for both long-time fans and those discovering kimchi for the first time.”

The Suitable for Vegans Kimchi range is now available at selected grocery retailers across Australia.

Last year, Bibigo also launched an Australian-sourced kimchi for consumers Down Under, using cabbage, radish, green onions and onions, sourced from Australian farms.
