Amber Beverage Australia has signed an exclusive agreement to distribute Dominican rum brand Ron Barceló across Australia.
The partnership takes effect in August, marking an expansion of the distributor’s spirits portfolio.
The initial launch includes five distinct product lines: Ron Barceló Blanco, Dorado, Añejo, Gran Añejo, and Imperial.
These offerings target different market segments, covering both cocktail mixing and sipping categories.
Amber Beverage Australia plans a national rollout across retail outlets, key accounts, and select on-premise venues.
Established in the Dominican Republic, Ron Barceló distils its spirits from fresh sugarcane juice and ages them in oak barrels under tropical conditions.
The company exports its products to more than 80 countries. Industry data from IWSR ranked the brand as the world’s most exported dark rum between 2018 and 2021.
In addition, the producer achieved Carbon Neutral certification, marking a shift toward certified sustainable practices in its production methods.
“Australia’s premium spirits drinker is more curious and discerning than ever, and the rum category presents a significant opportunity for growth,” said Uliana Linenko, MD of Amber Beverage Australia.
“Ron Barceló brings together nearly a century of heritage, strong sustainability credentials and a portfolio that appeals across both cocktail and sipping occasions. We are proud to be the brand’s Australian distribution partner and look forward to expanding its presence across the market.”
To support the commercial launch, the distributor will implement trade education initiatives alongside its logistics operations to build market awareness among local hospitality and retail businesses.
Last year, Amber Beverage expanded its alcohol-free portfolio with Lyre’s partnership.
