Sweet maker The Natural Confectionery Co has created a new jelly in Australia, which has prebiotic fibre and a liquid centre made of kombucha extract.

The new lollies are free from artificial colours and flavours and have 25 per cent less sugar than similar products.

The kombucha lollies launch this week at Woolworths – ahead of World Kombucha Day on February 21 – coming in three flavours, mixed together: Strawberry Hibiscus, Ginger Peach and Kombucha Original.

“We noticed Aussies embracing the kombucha trend and couldn’t resist creating a fun and unique recipe for everyone to enjoy,” said Paul Chatfield, marketing director for The Natural Confectionery Co Australia.

“Being the first of its kind in the country, we’re excited for Australians to experience the deliciously different taste of these jellies.”

The confectionery has an RRP of $4 for a 180g pack.
