Radio host and TV personality Abbie Chatfield has teamed up with Carlton & United Breweries to launch Spill lager, a new “low-key” beer designed to challenge beer stereotypes of hyper-masculinity and bitter taste.
Chatfield is most known for her appearances in reality television, her radio show on the Hit Network called Hot Nights With Abbie Chatfield and as a judge on The Masked Singer Australia.
Spill Lager’s taste profile is spliced with subtle citrus and hop notes and a hint of lime on the aroma. It’s sweet, fruity, and possesses a soft malty character that balances the subdued bitterness, so it doesn’t linger in the mouth.
Each can is less than 99 calories with an ABV of 4.2 per cent.
“I know that the thought of me starting a beer may seem left of field to some, but anyone who knows me knows that beer is always my go-to drink,” said Chatfield.
“Being an easy-going lager, there’s a perfect lightness to Spill while still being a classic beer that I know everyone can enjoy – even those who are traditionally steering clear of ordering a beer with dinner.”
Megan Hodza, category manager for Coles Liquor Group, said Liquorland and First Choice Liquor Market are proud to be the first and only major retailers to offer the local lager.
“We’re thrilled to be partnering with Abbie for the launch of Spill, and we’re confident this brand new, locally made beer will satisfy your thirst this summer,” said Hodza.
Spill is available for RRP$5.50 per can and RRP$21 for a pack of six, online and in-store at Coles Liquorland and First Choice Liquor.
