The Magnum Ice Cream Company has completed a $35 million upgrade of its Minto manufacturing facility in South-West Sydney, expanding its capacity and upgrading its production systems as part of a global supply chain overhaul.
The investment is aimed at strengthening the company’s local manufacturing footprint and improving its ability to bring new products to market quickly.
The Minto site produces well-known Streets brands, including Magnum, Golden Gaytime, Paddle Pop, Weis and Blue Ribbon, and now incorporates new automation systems, upgraded equipment, and a refurbished support office.
“This investment positions us to disrupt the ice cream market and deliver new innovations at speed,” said Scott Mingl, GM ANZ at The Magnum Ice Cream Company.
“Our focus is to grow the business to become the best ice cream company in Australia and New Zealand and a key manufacturer of ice creams loved across the country.”
The company says the Minto factory now produces close to 3 million ice cream servings per day, making it one of the largest ice cream production sites in the region. The facility supplies around 63 per cent of all Magnum Ice Cream Company products sold in Australia and New Zealand.
Last year, Magnum launched ten new products, many of which were developed and produced in Minto, including standout releases like Magnum Boysenberry and Golden Gaytime Lamington.
According to the brand, the $35 million upgrade is designed not just to increase capacity, but to support agile, end-to-end production, from R&D through to packaging and logistics, enabling Magnum to adapt quickly in a competitive and fast-moving category.
