Whittaker’s gives new meaning to peanut butter & jelly sandwich

Whittaker’s has partnered with Pic’s Peanut Butter – a fellow New Zealand brand – to create a Peanut Butter & Jelly chocolate Block – following the premise of the infamous American sandwich concept.

The new range features salty peanut butter, a tart, fruity boysenberry jelly and 33 per cent of Whittaker’s cocoa milk chocolate. Peanut Butter & Jelly Block is made from bean-to-bar at Whittaker’s factory in Porirua and the company says the key ingredients are sourced locally as well.

Holly Whittaker – co-COO at Whittaker’s – says the company wants to introduce sweet lovers to another way to enjoy chocolate with a new combination.

“Whittaker’s Chocolate Lovers can enjoy the delicious taste of either the peanut butter or boysenberry jelly-filled pieces, or stack them together to make their own peanut butter and jelly ‘sandwich’,” said Holly. “With different flavours at each end of the block, there’s a fun element of discovery for those who like both of the flavours or the combination of them together, or for sharing between people who have different flavour preferences.”

The new Whittaker’s product can be found at Coles, Woolworths and Big W stores across the country with an RRP of $6.
