independent family-owned brewery Coopers has unveiled this year’s Vintage Ale’s packaging and flavours, which aims to feature elements that befit the brew in the premium craft beer category.
Last year, the company refreshed its branding with a new look to its core packaging.
A tradition that commenced in 1988, each year, the brewery’s team creates a unique, craft-style beer characterised by its hop selection that undergoes secondary fermentation and natural conditioning.
The limited-edition Coopers 2023 Vintage Ale features American hop Talus, which provides “intense” fruity and floral flavours. It is a full-bodied, extra-strong ale at 65 IBU (international bitter units) with an alcohol level of 7.5 per cent ABV (alcohol by volume).
Dr Tim Cooper, MD at Coopers, said this year’s vintage ale continues the brewery’s tradition of producing “popular” annual seasonal releases.
“The flavour hero of the 2023 Vintage is Talus, a dual-purpose American hop that delivers bold aromas of citrus and berries, with grapefruit, stone fruit, coconut, and pine on the palate,” said Cooper.
“A rich, balanced and full-bodied ale, the 2023 Vintage drinks well immediately and, if stored under cellar conditions, will evolve and become more complex over time.”
Coopers 2023 Vintage Ale will be available in 330ml bottles for an RRP of $33 for six-packs and $99 for 24-pack cartons in liquor stores nationwide. It will also be available on tap for a limited time at selected venues.
