Connoisseur, Peters Ice Cream’s subsidiary brand, has expanded its range by launching the Strawberry Matcha stick format at Coles.
The new flavour follows the successful launch of Connoisseur’s Pistachio Gelato range, including Pistachio sticks, introduced in March.
Made with green tea powder folded into an ice cream base, the Strawberry Matcha stick is mixed with strawberry syrup and coated in a strawberry-flavoured pink chocolate casing.
Connoisseur previously introduced matcha flavours to its product line in a 1-litre tub format, and the new stick design expands its use of tea-based ingredients.
The product rollout targets consumer interest driven by online social media trends, where beverage variants of strawberry matcha have gained significant visibility.
“Consumers today aren’t just discovering flavours in store anymore; they’re discovering them through culture, social media and what’s trending online,” says Vanessa Mason at Connoisseur.
“As strawberry matcha is one of the biggest flavour sensations of the past year, we saw an opportunity to be the first to reimagine it into a premium ice cream stick.
“It captures everything people know and love about the flavour trend while delivering the indulgence and craftsmanship Connoisseur is known for,” said Mason.
Distributed exclusively at Coles supermarkets starting late this month, the limited-release four-pack is priced at an RRP of $12.
